Amentum is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI capabilities within classified, disconnected environments. You will work on RAG pipelines, open-weight LLMs, and secure model serving on government infrastructure, while guiding customers and internal teams on responsible adoption.

The role requires strong ML and software engineering skills, experience with GPU-backed serving, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences, including leadership and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software/ML/data engineering.
• 2+ years building LLM/ML apps serving real users.
• Experience deploying AI in disconnected/classified environments.
• Experience securing retrieval pipelines by clearance level.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and deploy AI systems in production environments.
• Bridge data science and software engineering for end-to-end delivery.
• Collaborate with security, mission teams, and executives to align data strategy.
• Support ATO packages and government compliance efforts.
• Provide clear AI concept explanations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
