Job summary

Gates Foundation in Seattle seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI solutions for global teams. You will translate problems into production-ready systems, collaborating with Lead Engineers and cross-functional partners in a 24-month, hybrid role with 50% in office.

You’ll work with Python, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and modern data platforms to enable scalable knowledge work, integrate APIs and microservices, and contribute to code quality, testing, and CI/CD while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 8+ years of relevant experience; advanced degree common.
• Strong Python skills and experience with AI/LLM systems.
• Experience deploying AI/ML in production and with Azure cloud.
• Familiarity with LangChain, embeddings, graph technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy agentic AI systems with multi-step workflows.
• Design and implement scalable AI/ML solutions in Azure.
• Integrate AI into enterprise apps via APIs and microservices.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
