Job summary

VetsEZ seeks a Senior AI Application Engineer to design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI solutions for the VA. You will work with AI architects, cybersecurity, and clinical stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable AI-powered applications within a test environment using RAG, LLMs, and Bedrock.

You will implement prompt engineering, document retrieval, and semantic search, ensure compliance with federal security and AI governance, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and HITL practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years building enterprise software.
• 5+ years developing cloud-native apps on AWS or similar.
• Experience delivering AI/ML or Generative AI solutions.
• Experience with Bedrock or similar enterprise AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI apps using LLMs and RAG.
• Build AI-assisted search, summarization, and QA with Bedrock.
• Create reusable AI services for prompts, retrieval, and response generation.
• Apply prompt engineering and source-grounding for accuracy and relevance, with source links.
• Balance performance, latency, and cost while maintaining security and governance.
• Develop secure, scalable cloud-native apps and RESTful APIs.
• Implement document retrieval, vector search, and semantic search in patient contexts.
• Write automated tests and evaluations for groundedness and clinical relevance.
• Integrate AI into enterprise healthcare apps and workflows.
• Ensure interoperability with FHIR, HL7, and CCD.
