Job summary

Genesys is seeking a Principal Applied AI Engineer to lead design and delivery of next-generation AI systems in finance. You will blend machine learning, agentic AI, and software engineering to build production-grade models and orchestration frameworks.

You will guide cross-functional teams across finance, IT, and product, architect scalable AI services, ensure governance and SOX compliance, and drive measurable business impact with innovative AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data science, software engineering, and AI engineering with production deployments.
• Proven track record building production AI systems at scale.
• Deep expertise in predictive modeling, time series forecasting, and churn modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and ML/AI frameworks; strong system design.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, evaluation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), distributed systems, MLOps.
• Experience with financial data and compliance-aware modeling.
• Strong software engineering foundation: API development, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead agentic AI systems that automate finance workflows.
• Design multi-agent systems using LLMs, tool-use, orchestration patterns.
• Translate cutting-edge AI research into scalable production solutions.
• Establish guardrails and responsible AI practices for safe outputs.
• Design fault-tolerant, observable agent systems with recovery strategies.
• Lead design and implementation of predictive models for retention and forecasting.
• Develop interpretable, production-grade models for finance planning.
• Define evaluation metrics, validation, monitoring for model performance.
• Translate insights into actionable recommendations for finance leaders.
• Design scalable AI/ML systems with modular design, APIs, CI/CD, testing.
• Lead end-to-end development from concept to production.
• Develop and integrate AI services into internal applications and workflows.
• Adopt modern tooling: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures.
• Lead MLOps lifecycle: deployment, monitoring, retraining, governance.
• Ensure security/compliance (SOX) and auditability.
• Develop feature engineering strategies capturing various signals.
• Set technical direction across the finance organization.
• Mentor other data specialists and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Contribute to long-term AI strategy.
