Jeeves seeks a senior AI Engineer to own end-to-end AI workflows, working closely with Product, Backend Engineering, and clients to shape, ship, and improve AI capabilities. Qualifications

• 7+ years professional software engineering experience with 2+ years in production AI systems.
• A track record of owning a large system end-to-end, from scoping and design through launch.
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered applications with APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic, including structured outputs and error handling.
• Experience designing agentic or multi-step AI workflows (tool use, orchestration, human review steps).
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend fundamentals: REST APIs, PostgreSQL, async patterns, and AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Observability experience: logging, tracing, dashboards, quality monitoring.
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design agentic and multi-step AI workflows that combine extraction, retrieval, reasoning, and tool use with human-in-the-loop points.
• Build production-grade LLM pipelines with prompts, context design, validation, and confidence scoring.
• Integrate AI services cleanly with Jeeves's backend: API contracts, retries, degradation, and data isolation.
• Manage cost and latency across models, selecting the right model for each step.
• Instrument AI components with logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerts to detect quality drops.
• Maintain an audit trail of AI decisions for regulated financial product compliance.
