Job summary

Cortex Consultants LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - AI to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade .NET/C# applications with AI capabilities on the Microsoft platform. You will build AI-powered agents, implement RAG, and apply prompt/context engineering to optimize outputs.

The role requires 10+ years in software development, strong Azure AI experience, and collaboration with product teams, data scientists, and DevOps. This is a 6-month C2H engagement based in Coppell, TX.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of software development with .NET and C#.
1+ years building AI solutions and agents using Microsoft technologies.
Strong knowledge of prompt engineering, context engineering, and LLM-based architectures.
Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native development.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and agile methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable .NET/C# applications and services.
Design and implement AI-powered solutions using Microsoft Azure AI services.
Build intelligent agents that integrate with enterprise systems and workflows.
Apply prompt and context engineering to optimize agent behavior and model outputs.
Integrate retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to enhance agent knowledge.
Leverage tool use orchestration and action planning to interact with external systems.
Implement memory management and state/goal tracking for autonomous agents.
Evaluate AI agents using various techniques and tools; collaborate with teams.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in AI integration.
