Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an AI Enablement and Automation Engineer to drive efficiency by leveraging AI and automation across engineering workflows. You will lead AI solutions to shorten cycle times, reduce lifecycle costs, and minimize technical debt while enhancing reusability across business units.

The role requires strong collaboration with diverse engineering teams, hands‑on AI tool development, and staying ahead of AI/ML trends. Onsite work in a regulated aerospace environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws and minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
• GenAI implementation patterns: RAG, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and constrain outputs for regulated environments.
• Hands‑on LLMOps experience with evaluation/monitoring tools (MLflow or equivalents) for experiments in regulated settings.
• Programming skills in Python or C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Identify manual engineering tasks that can be automated with AI and automation.
• Develop, implement, and maintain AI and automation tools to improve workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Analyze workflows and data to reduce inefficiencies and boost precision, speed, and productivity.
• Stay updated on AI/ML advancements to keep solutions cutting‑edge.
• Design and run proof‑of‑concept projects to validate AI strategies.
• Ensure solutions comply with standards including security and performance.
• Provide training and documentation for teams adopting new tools.
