Job summary

STARLIMS Corporation is seeking an experienced software engineer to help build AI-enabled agent platform and runtime for enterprise data, with a focus on planning, tool calling, and durable execution.

You will ground agent decisions in authoritative data, implement human-in-the-loop controls, and ensure observability, reliability, and security across multi-step workflows using TypeScript, Python, AWS, and modern tooling.

Qualifications

6+ years of production software engineering experience.
Experience building production LLM systems with tool-using or multi-step agentic workflows beyond simple prompting.
Strong understanding of LLM behavior, limitations, and failure modes in multi-step runs.
Experience with LLM APIs, tool and function calling, and planning/execution loops.
Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python.
Solid backend and cloud experience (AWS or equivalent).

Responsibilities

Design and build the runtime our agents execute on: planning and execution loops, tool calling, state management, durable execution, and failure recovery.
Ground agent decisions and outputs in authoritative enterprise data.
Implement human-in-the-loop with approval gates, override capture, uncertainty handling, and evidence for decisions.
Close the loop: turn user corrections into signals to improve the agent.
Define production metrics for agent quality, reliability, latency, cost, and human intervention rates.
