Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Lead AI Engineer in Phoenix to drive the design and development of AI algorithms, models, and systems for aerial platforms. You will lead multi-year research plans and supervise a global team of scientists and engineers while pursuing government and internal funding.

The role focuses on computer vision, AI and autonomy technologies for UAV/UAM platforms, including navigation and obstacle detection, delivering advanced AI solutions to empower autonomous operations.

Formación

• Master's degree or PhD in robotics, aerospace engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years developing AI or computer vision for autonomy in aerospace.
• Proven track record winning contracts (> $500k) with DARPA, ARL or other government agencies.
• Mastery expertise in research and development of computer vision and AI for aerospace applications.
• Experience leading complex R&D programs for internal customers and external government customers.
• Ability to lead direct and indirect reports by influence.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of complex AI solutions to address specific business needs, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and robustness.
• Drive AI, Computer Vision and Autonomy technology strategy development
• Define and lead research into new and novel techniques for AI across aerospace applications
• Drive technology transitions and productization of key AI and computer vision technologies to develop hardware, software, edge solution and integrate it onto UAV/UAM platforms
• Provide mentorship and guidance to AI engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
