The Senior AI Engineer is a hands-on, full-stack AI engineer who designs, builds, and runs production AI solutions across Sensata's commercial organization and core functions, including Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement. The role combines generative AI, agents, machine learning, and system integration to turn high-value use cases into secure, scalable tools embedded in day-to-day workflows, and moves across domains as enterprise priorities shift.

Lead the development and deployment of enterprise AI applications from concept through production. Build generative AI, agent, copilot, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions for commercial use cases, such as lead triage and routing, account insights, and competitor and peer performance intelligence. Build AI solutions for core functions, such as engineering design and FMEA support, quality diagnostics and root-cause analysis, supply chain planning, and procurement contract intelligence. Put data science models (e.g., forecasting, scoring, anomaly detection, computer vision) into production as reliable services and APIs. Integrate AI with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, ERP, PLM, MES, and quality systems so insights show up where people already work. Build data pipelines that combine structured and unstructured data, including documents, engineering and test data, manufacturing data, and external market data. Create reusable frameworks, components, and engineering standards that accelerate solution delivery across domains. Establish testing, evaluation, and release criteria, including accuracy and source-grounding checks, plus adoption and business-impact metrics. Own solutions end to end, from prototype through production support, and iterate directly with business users. Apply security and access controls suited to sensitive data, including customer, pricing, financial, and engineering IP. Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure AI solutions meet technical, security, and operational requirements.
5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production applications, including 2+ years building AI, machine learning, generative AI, or intelligent automation solutions. Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, APIs, system integration, cloud technologies, and modern software development practices. Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), intelligent agents, copilots, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), including evaluating and monitoring output quality. Working knowledge of machine learning and MLOps; exposure to computer vision, time-series, or optimization is a plus. Knowledge of software testing, CI/CD, deployment automation, and production support best practices. Experience integrating solutions with enterprise platforms, business applications, and data ecosystems; exposure to CRM (e.g., Salesforce), ERP, PLM, or MES preferred. Proven ability to work across multiple business domains and quickly learn new processes; manufacturing or industrial experience preferred. Azure, Azure AI services, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or Databricks experience preferred. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field preferred.
