Job summary

Sensata Technologies is seeking a design-focused engineer in Vermont to work within cross-functional teams on challenging product development and manufacturing problems. You will drive feasibility studies, testing, design validation, and production launches, while maintaining documentation and reports.

Job description

General Responsibilities

• Creates designs within inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges


• Leads feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs


• Develops testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch


• Responsible for failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations


• Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned; produce design reports, test reports, operating manuals and test procedures


• Leads a team that includes senior engineers/managers for the purpose of engaging with customers in soliciting product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget

Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience


• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands


• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in circuit board design (schematics, layout, component selection, DFM).


• Hands‑on experience with DSP, CPLD, and/or FPGA programming (VHDL/Verilog, embedded C, or equivalent).


• Strong background in power electronics and power conversion topologies.


• Familiarity with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar).


• Understanding of digital and analog circuit design fundamentals.


• Ability to interpret test data, troubleshoot complex systems, and drive design improvements.


• Familiar with PWM, PLL, and PID control methodologies.


• undefined Experience with Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testbeds.


• Experience with IGBT devices and gating control.


• Background in defense, aerospace, or ruggedized industrial power systems.


• Familiarity with UL, CSA, IEEE, CE, and MIL‑spec requirements.

Base Salary Range

Base Salary Range: $118,800.00 - $163,350.00

• Certain positions are also eligible for short-term incentive and long-term incentive programs.
