Job summary

Coursera is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join an fast-paced AI-focused engineering team. You will work across AI, data engineering, cloud architecture, and customer-facing solutioning to map workflows, prototype quickly, and ramp proven patterns into production deployments.

You will engage with customers’ environments from scoping through go-live, collaborating with Product Managers, AI Specialists, Data Analysts, and other Engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Experience building production-grade AI-enabled solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Kafka.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and multi-tenant/hybrid deployment models.
• Strong data engineering fundamentals and secure, scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Scope customer environments with executive sponsors and IT/data owners.
• Prototype and demo working solutions in real time for customers.
• Bridge customer needs with core engineering to production deployments.
• Design multi-tenant, hybrid deployment architectures respecting data residency and security.
• Build and own IAM, encryption, and secure cross-network connectivity for deployments.
• Incorporate security, data residency, and compliance in discovery and engagements.
• Own CI/CD, observability, and production support inside customer environments.
• Identify repeatable patterns and feed learnings back to Product team.
• Collaborate with Product, AI Specialists, and Program Managers to scope impact.
• Travel to customer sites regularly for scoping, prototyping, and go-live phases.
