Marqeta, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead incident response for North America. You will engineer automated detections, run advanced threat hunts, and mentor juniors on IR best practices within a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Build AI-driven SOAR workflows and improve detection across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will shape the security operations program, craft runbooks, and partner with stakeholders to close coverage gaps using MITRE ATT&CK guidance and enterprise security

Qualificações

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in security operations with emphasis on Incident Response and Detection Engineering.
• Industry certifications in Incident Response or related fields are strongly preferred, such as GCIH, GCFA, GIME, OSIR, or GEIR.

Responsabilidades

• Lead security responder in North American timezones during complex alerts and incidents.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations providing senior-level expertise.
• Engineer, maintain, and optimize detection logic across data sources.
• Design detection coverage mapping and identify threat blind spots.
• Develop and track KPIs for detection effectiveness and MTTD/MTTR.
• Create and maintain incident response runbooks and SOPs.
• Mentor junior team members in operations, detection engineering, and IR.
• Build automation workflows and orchestration playbooks for IR and threat hunting.
• Develop and use AI-driven tools for Security Operations and Incident Response.
• Conduct proactive threat hunts across corporate and production environments.
