Job summary

Symbotic LLC in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Senior Security Automation Engineer to design and build AI-driven automations, copilots, and secure workflows across Security, IT, and Compliance teams.

The role is hands-on with high autonomy: define requirements, select architecture, implement with AI tools, and ship production systems while aligning with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and guardrails for safe, compliant AI use. Hybrid work available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Two years of experience in parrot nerotrophiccs.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience with full-stack depth and DevOps skills.
• Hands-on experience building with AI and LLM systems, including APIs and agent frameworks.
• Strong development skills, ideally Python, with API-driven integrations.
• Experience building internal tools or automation workflows in enterprise environments.
• Understanding secure system design, IAM, RBAC, secrets management, audit logging.
• Ability to deliver a production system with minimal direction and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain AI-driven automations, internal applications, copilots, and workflow orchestration solutions.
• Build agentic workflows that retrieve context, reason through tasks, and generate actionable outputs.
• Automate security, compliance, and operational processes to reduce manual effort and speed responses.
• Integrate AI workflows with ITSM, IAM, SIEM, SOAR, GRC, ticketing, knowledge management, vulnerability management, and cloud security tools.
• Develop secure human-in-the-loop approval patterns for high-risk AI actions.
• Create reusable workflow patterns, prompts, and service components.
• Partner with Security, IT, Engineering, Compliance, and business teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Contribute to penetration testing and red-team efforts as security program grows.
• Measure outcomes like time saved, error reduction, and risk reduction.
• Help define standards and guardrails for responsible AI use.
