Job summary

Zoom’s Offensive Security team seeks a senior researcher to surface critical risks across products, applications, services, and infrastructure using advanced AI for vulnerability discovery and exploitation validation.

You’ll collaborate with Security Assurance teams, drive self‑directed research, and develop custom tooling while reporting findings to engineering and product security to influence remediation and risk understanding.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on vulnerability research, offensive security, application security, or penetration testing.
• Hands‑on experience running offensive workflows with frontier and open‑weight models.
• Experience assessing AI‑driven research processes, including reproducibility and false positives.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one security domain (web apps, APIs, cloud, OS, etc.).
• Strong programming and debugging skills to read code and build tooling.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI to conduct vulnerability research across Zoom's products and infrastructure, focusing on high‑impact issues and validated exploitability.
• Use threat analysis and architecture knowledge to select targets and guide investigations.
• Apply frontier models and agents across reconnaissance, code analysis, hypothesis generation, exploit development, and verification.
• Design research harnesses that give models the right context, tools, and environments.
• Develop custom tooling, including analysis utilities, fuzzers, and proof‑of‑concept exploits when needed.
• Convert model output into defensible security evidence and distinguish weaknesses from real exploits with impact.
• Improve AI‑driven research reliability by reducing false positives/negatives and improving reproducibility.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Security to communicate findings and support remediation.
• Share tools and lessons learned to enhance security processes across the org.
