Job summary

Stout is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join the Applied Innovation Group in Arlington. You’ll work at the intersection of AI and knowledge work, building features across frontend and backend and shaping data pipelines, services, and UIs.

You’ll collaborate with a small team and leverage AI tooling to deliver high-quality software. You will join as the third engineer, reporting to the Managing Director, Applied Innovation, and you’ll work closely with UI/UX and product colleagues while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering across the full stack.
• Ability to pick up a new stack quickly with a track record of producing results in unfamiliar codebases.
• Experience owning an area of a system and delivering it to production and beyond.
• Daily use of AI coding tools, writing specs, and building tests for AI-assisted changes.

Responsibilities

• Ship features from requirements to production across frontend and backend.
• Own areas of the platform such as a data pipeline, a service, or a UI component.
• Work on the LLM-backed core of the product including extraction, retrieval, chat and content generation.
• Use AI coding agents as part of development, breaking work into tasks and reviewing agent output.
• Build tests and checks to verify AI-assisted changes are safe to ship.
• Collaborate with consultants, product and design to clarify requirements early.
