Job summary

Remote’s Build / Customer Engineering team is seeking a seasoned engineer to partner with customers, understand operational challenges, and translate them into concrete technical designs and reliable AI-enabled solutions.

You will own deployments, ensure reliability, and collaborate across Product, Engineering, and customer teams to deliver repeatable playbooks and reusable patterns, shaping how we deploy AI at scale.

Qualifications

• Shipping production software (backend and/or full-stack) and owning it in production.
• Strong integration and systems thinking: APIs, events, webhooks, auth, data modeling.
• Applied AI/LLM experience beyond prototypes: prompt design, RAG, evaluation, latency/cost trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand challenges and success criteria.
• Translate problems into technical designs and implementation plans.
• Build AI-enabled solutions that integrate with customer systems and Remote’s platform.
• Own deployments including reliability, performance, observability, incident response.
• Develop evaluation metrics, test harnesses, datasets and guardrails.
• Work with real data to validate outputs and quantify impact.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to ship high-quality solutions.
• Create repeatable playbooks, reference architectures, templates.
• Be the voice of the field to shape product strategy.
