Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to join its Cloud Automation & AI Systems team. You will design and build scalable cloud-native services that power AI-driven operational automation across the incident lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate with product, SRE, and engineering teams to create intelligent workflows, APIs, and tooling, with a focus on reliability, performance, and security in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/related field.
• 3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native apps.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, and automation platforms.
• Proficient in Java, Python, Go, or C#.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and performance.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and async processing.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts and large-scale production systems.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate cloud-native services for AI-driven automation.
• Build intelligent automation and workflow capabilities to reduce manual work.
• Develop AI-assisted services for issue investigation and action recommendations.
• Create scalable backend services, APIs, data models, and user experiences.
• Integrate telemetry, observability, tickets, and workflow engines.
• Develop event-driven architectures and automation frameworks for reliability.
• Collaborate with product, engineers, SREs to deliver solutions.
• Contribute to platform governance, security, and compliance.
• Analyze production issues and improve resiliency with automation.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, and best practices.
• Measure performance and optimize service scalability and reliability.
• Establish patterns for AI-enabled automation across OCI initiatives.
• Foster culture of innovation and operational excellence.
