Job summary

Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure team invites an experienced engineer to design, develop, test, and operate cloud‑native AI‑first platform services. You will partner with SREs, security, and backend teams to drive safe operational outcomes and implement scalable automation.

The role requires 8+ years in engineering, strong Java skills, and deep experience with distributed systems, runbooks, and incident management. Oracle offers broad benefits and growth within a large international cloud company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of engineering, application development or related experience.
• Proficient with Java or similar OO languages.
• Experience building automated and AI‑first solutions.
• Proficient with data structures, algorithms, operating systems.
• Experience with distributed systems: CAP theorem, Consensus, messaging, HA.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience operating production systems with change management, incident management, runbooks, audits, and security controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication during incidents and cross‑team handoffs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate modern, cloud‑native, AI‑first platform services.
• Collaborate with SREs, release managers, security/compliance owners, backend/database teams, and support escalation teams.
• Define configuration and implementation best practices.
• Design and implement changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
• Provide technical leadership to other software developers.
• Work across teams to engineer the best system for operations and customers.
• Scale systems by building tooling and automation.
