Job summary

Asepha Inc. in New York is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design and build autonomous agents for multi-step pharmaceutical workflows. You will contribute across backend, frontend, and devops, taking ownership of architecture and expanding our AI product line.

You will balance speed with quality, collaborate across teams, and ensure performance and observability as we scale the agentic platform for healthcare workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and knowledge of APIs, data stores, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Experience with web frameworks and service-oriented architectures and designing clean, versioned APIs.
• Familiarity with caching, messaging, and database technologies and how to use them for performance and reliability.
• Experience building for cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience building and deploying agentic AI systems, understanding tool use, planning, memory, and orchestration patterns.
• Located in New York and able to commute to Manhattan office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design and build autonomous agents for multi-step pharmaceutical workflows end-to-end.
• Architect communication systems spanning organizational boundaries.
• Build orchestration layers for long-running tasks with graceful failure handling and human-in-the-loop escalation.
• Develop frameworks for agent interaction with external pharmacy systems, databases, and APIs.
• Implement evaluation and observability infrastructure to monitor agent behavior in production.
• Integrate with healthcare data standards and legacy pharmacy systems.
• Scale systems for real-time processing across multiple pharmacy networks.
