Job summary

Nubank is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the architectural evolution of our Credit Card platform. This role centers on transforming operations with Generative AI and orchestrating a global migration to a unified architecture.

You will collaborate with Engineering Leadership and serve as a reference across the engineering community, tackling high-scale distributed systems and enabling a data-driven, resilient product ecosystem across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and the US.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, focused on large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven experience leading critical system migrations and coexistence of legacy and new architectures.
• Interest or practical experience with GenAI/LLMs to improve engineering productivity and data analysis.
• Ability to design reusable APIs and contracts serving multiple product teams with high reliability.
• Fluent English for collaboration across global hubs (Brazil, US, Mexico, Colombia).

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term migration roadmap, starting with a 1-year plan for the Colombian market.
• Architect and integrate AI solutions to automate infrastructure maintenance and data migration.
• Collaborate with General Managers, PMs, and Staff+ ICs to align technical decisions across countries.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster pragmatism and excellence in distributed systems with AI tools.
