Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a Senior Design Technologist to lead AI prototyping and internal tooling on the Design Foundations team. You will drive AI-enabled design workflows, build production-ready prototypes, and ensure alignment with design tokens, accessibility standards, and motion systems.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design to translate speculative ideas into high-fidelity interactive prototypes and scalable internal tools that support a fast, quality-driven design

Qualifications

• 8+ years across creative technology, design engineering, interaction design, or advanced prototyping with a portfolio showing both technical depth and strong design sense.
• Experience building interactive experiences powered by LLMs (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) integrated into interaction design.
• Collaborative with Design Systems and Accessibility teams.
• Fluent in advanced Figma capabilities: Variables, Advanced Prototyping, Plugins API, REST API.
• Strong front-end skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React to prototype at high fidelity.

Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity, interactive prototypes to support research, stakeholder alignment, and product decisions.
• Develop AI-assisted design tooling and internal frameworks for scalable prototyping.
• Create AI API integrations, structured outputs, and prompts aligned with design tokens, accessibility, and motion systems.
• Develop surface templates and prompting frameworks to accelerate prototyping across the organization.
• Partner with Design System and Accessibility teams to scale efficiency of design work.
• Define how AI integrates into front-end workflows, including CI checks and token enforcement.
• Introduce on-brand motion and micro-interactions to enhance clarity and delight.
• Develop reusable prototyping frameworks and internal tooling for faster idea validation.
• Help shape Superhuman's approach to AI-native design and long-term design patterns.
