MITRE Corporation is seeking a Lead Artificial Intelligence and Decision Engineer to drive AI-enabled decision-making across mission-critical domains. The role focuses on machine learning, large language models, and advanced AI techniques to design, develop, evaluate, and deploy decision support solutions for sponsors.

The position requires substantial hands-on AI experience, the ability to lead interdisciplinary teams, and communicates effectively with senior stakeholders.

Formación

• Minimum 8 years AI experience with a relevant degree; 6 years with a Master’s or a PhD with 3 years’ experience
• Hands-on experience with machine learning (including deep learning and reinforcement learning) and LLMs, generative AI, decision science, human-centered AI, and related areas
• Ability to articulate challenges in high-stakes AI-driven decision making and identify gaps
• Strong desire to learn quickly across domains and communicate complex ideas clearly

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership on cross-functional teams developing AI-enhanced decision systems with LLMs
• Develop decision support software prototypes based on workflow analysis
• Propose and execute innovative AI research for decision systems
• Evaluate AI solutions against sponsor requirements with actionable recommendations
• Lead projects or small teams to solve complex decision problems
• Communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences and mentor staff
