Job summary

Viant Technology in Irvine, CA is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Potens team and evolve Magnus and Goliath, two internal platforms powering workflow orchestration and data exploration. This hands-on, full-stack role blends modernization of mature systems with building AI-powered capabilities across Java, Go, and JavaScript, integrating with BigQuery and other GCP services.

You will own features end-to-end—from design through deployment—while contributing to production stability

Qualifications

• Hands-on, full-stack engineering with production systems experience.
• Experience integrating Java/Go backends with frontend JS.
• Familiarity with BigQuery, SQL, and data exploration workflows.
• Ability to design, implement, deploy, and support features end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modernize Magnus Java applications, REST APIs, and Goliath frontend.
• Develop and support backend capabilities using Java and Go.
• Build AI features and integrations using LLMs, tool calling, guardrails, and MCP.
• Integrate with BigQuery, MySQL, GCP services, and internal APIs.
• Diagnose production issues and implement automated tests for reliability.
• Own projects from proposal to deployment and production support.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices.
