Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Data to join its AI team and build the data pipelines powering model training and next-generation AI products. You will design and operate data-intensive systems that assemble high-quality datasets at scale.

You will work with AI scientists to improve training data, discover new sources of audio data, and own projects from discovery through delivery in a fast, fully distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with backend focus.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash on Linux.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally with data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving, initiative, and ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Discover new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines for training data.
• Build and optimize large-scale data-processing systems for quality, throughput, and cost.
• Collaborate with AI Scientists to improve training datasets and models.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and continuous improvement.
