Job summary

General Motors, a leading automaker, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate data-driven and AI-enabled software solutions for Product Validation, Safety and Quality IT. You will work with SQL, Databricks, Java, and Python to deliver scalable data pipelines and backend services for enterprise use.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with data science teams to productionize AI/LLM solutions, and help establish best practices in cloud and containerized environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE/IS.
• 6+ years delivering enterprise software using Java/JEE and Python.
• 3+ years with SQL, data pipelines, and performance tuning on large datasets.
• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data-driven and AI-enabled applications supporting Product Development and Quality teams.
• Write high-quality SQL queries, functions, and procedures for complex data transformations.
• Build and optimize data pipelines in Databricks and related tools for batch/real-time processing.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Java and Python integrating data, rules, and workflows.
