Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to shape the next generation of actuarial analytics. You will build modern, agentic data solutions that combine ThoughtSpot, Snowflake, semantic data assets, and AI-powered analytics to help actuaries move faster from data to insight to action.

You will work as a hands-on builder and thought partner, developing analytic-ready data assets, governed semantic layers, AI prompts, and interactive analytics experiences that enable actuaries to identify

Qualifications

• Experience with ThoughtSpot and Snowflake for analytics.
• Experience building semantic data layers for analytics.
• Hands-on data analysis, manipulation and development (5-7 years).
• 1-3 years in insurance/investment domain preferred.
• Strong SQL skills required.
• Experience designing, implementing ETL processes.
• Knowledge of emerging data-centric technologies.
• Ability to select and use data wrangling tools effectively.

Responsibilities

• Build analytic-ready data assets and governed semantic layers.
• Develop AI prompts and context for analytics experiences.
• Create interactive analytics to surface trends and support decisions.
• Partner with actuarial teams to design trusted data products and dashboards.
• Guide pricing, reserving, underwriting, and portfolio decisions.
