Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to design and deliver modern data platforms and analytics capabilities for actuarial analytics. The role emphasizes building agentic data solutions, semantic layers, and AI-enabled insights to support pricing, reserving, underwriting, and portfolio decisions.

The ideal candidate brings experience with ThoughtSpot and Snowflake, strong SQL skills, and a track record of developing scalable data assets.

Qualifications

5-7 years of data analysis, manipulation and development.
1-3 years of experience in the insurance or investment industry.
Strong SQL skills.
Experience with ThoughtSpot, Snowflake, semantic data layers, and AI for analytics or agentic data solutions.
Ability to design, implement, and oversee ETL processes.
Familiarity with emerging data centric technologies.

Responsibilities

Build modern data solutions that combine ThoughtSpot, Snowflake, semantic layers, and AI-powered analytics.
Partner with actuarial teams, business leaders, and analytics partners to design trusted data products and dashboards.
Develop analytic-ready data assets, governed semantic layers, AI prompts and context, and interactive analytics experiences.
Enable actuaries to identify opportunities, diagnose root causes, and deliver recommendations quickly.
