Job summary

Intertwine LLC is seeking a Senior AI/Data Engineer to lead data platform and ML/AI delivery, turning client data into actionable decisions. You will establish engineering standards and mentor engineers in a fast-paced, remote role with occasional travel.

Work with client leadership, architects, data scientists, and governance teams to ensure secure, scalable solutions. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required per contract.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building data pipelines, ML systems, or AI applications in production, including 2+ years leading technical work.
• Expert Python (Pandas, NumPy) and advanced SQL; experience integrating relational and unstructured sources.
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure data services; equivalent depth in AWS or Google Cloud.
• Production experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• Experience with data validation, schema enforcement, quality assurance, and governance in regulated environments.
• Experience designing APIs and microservices for analytics and ML platforms.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency may be required per contract.
• Ability to obtain a federal Public Trust or security clearance where required.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the delivery of enterprise data platforms and pipelines on Azure or equivalent cloud services.
• Set standards for ETL design, schema enforcement, data validation, quality checks, and lineage.
• Design, build, and deploy ML and AI solutions, including LLM-based applications with guardrails.
• Build secure API endpoints and microservices for analytics and ML platforms.
• Establish MLOps: experiment tracking, model registries, CI/CD, containers, monitoring.
• Apply data and AI governance for compliance, reproducibility, auditability, and responsible AI.
• Translate mission needs into technical roadmaps and briefs for client leadership.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists and lead cross-functional teams.
