Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Senior AI Data Engineer to transform our Enterprise Data Platform into an AI-native system where AI agents can discover, understand, and interact with enterprise data.

This hands-on role requires deep cloud data engineering, semantic modeling, metadata and context engineering, and the ability to deliver scalable, AI-enabled platform capabilities.

This hybrid position supports proximity to our U.S. offices and includes competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering or data platforms.
• Hands-on experience designing production AI systems and AI agents.
• Strong understanding of AI agent architectures and deployment patterns.
• Experience building AI-ready data platforms with semantic understanding and metadata intelligence.
• Strong cloud data engineering experience on GCP and modern data services.
• Proficiency in Python and scalable microservices development.
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, governance, and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Shape the Enterprise Data Platform into an AI-native platform with intelligent discovery and usage of enterprise data.
• Design and implement AI-driven capabilities and agents to automate complex workflows.
• Build data intelligence foundations: trusted context, business understanding, and reliable access.
• Create architectures for AI systems to reason over data and safely interact with APIs and services.
• Develop scalable AI-enabled solutions that integrate with cloud data platforms and distributed systems.
• Establish engineering practices for secure, governed, observable production AI solutions.
• Apply data and software engineering principles to build maintainable AI-enabled platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with data, AI/ML, architecture, and product teams to deliver high-impact AI features.
• Mentor engineers and codify best practices for AI-enabled data platforms.
