Job summary

Dematic seeks a highly experienced Semantic Context Data & AI Engineer to evolve our Enterprise Data Platform into an AI-native, context-aware ecosystem. You will design semantic layers, KPI frameworks, and metadata systems to enable trusted analytics and reliable AI consumption, combining hands-on coding with architectural thinking.

In this hybrid role, you will work in a modern cloud environment (GCP preferred), building scalable batch and streaming data pipelines, enforcing data contracts,

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in enterprise cloud data engineering and distributed systems.
• Proven experience building modern data platforms in GCP (BigQuery, Dataform, Pub/Sub, Composer/Airflow, Cloud Run).
• Strong SQL and Python skills with deep data modeling knowledge.
• Hands-on metadata management, governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience with batch and real-time streaming data systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise semantic models and certified KPI layers for trusted metrics.
• Build AI-safe data abstraction layers ensuring consistency across analytics and AI use cases.
• Develop data contracts, metadata standards, and semantic governance frameworks.
• Engineer scalable batch and real-time streaming pipelines in a modern cloud environment (GCP preferred).
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to design reliable grounding strategies for AI apps.
• Implement metadata management including cataloging, lineage, observability, and data quality checks.
• Apply DataOps principles with CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment automation for data products.
• Support domain-oriented and microservices-based data architectures.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in semantic modeling and governance.
