Adonis is building enterprise-grade AI and seeks a Senior Software Engineer to anchor a growing backend AI team in NYC. You will design and ship agentic systems that scale and set engineering standards, while staying close to research to bring new ideas into production.

You will lead by example, mentor teammates, and translate emerging techniques into reliable practices. Expect ownership and hands-on AWS work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Formal background in CS or a related technical discipline (MS a plus).
• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in Python and its ecosystem (FastAPI, Flask, or similar).
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar).
• A craftsperson who writes elegant, well-tested code — with or without AI assistance.
• A strong systems designer with hands-on AWS experience.
• Comfortable moving fast in ambiguous situations that require clear communication.
• Excited to work in person at our NYC office 3+ days per week.

• Build robust AI systems | Design and ship testable, production-grade agentic AI systems that hold up at enterprise scale.
• Lead by example | Serve as the lead IC and technical standard-bearer for a growing backend AI team — through code, design reviews, and mentorship.
• Push the state of the art | Research emerging techniques and translate them into practical, reliable engineering practices.
• Design lean systems | Extend and evolve our services while keeping complexity low and the codebase maintainable.
