Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to join our AI & Automation transformation program. You will build production automations that integrate Python, REST APIs, data stores, and Large Language Models into end-to-end solutions across the company.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Python development experience in a production environment.
• Solid REST API integration experience with authentication, paging, and error handling.
• Working knowledge of relational and cloud data stores (PostgreSQL, Snowflake, S3/Blob).
• Direct experience integrating LLMs into production workflows with prompt engineering.
• Git proficiency with branching, PRs, and meaningful commits.
• Strong communication skills to explain automation to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Take process specifications and design the technical approach including data flow and integration points.
• Build automations in Python: REST calls, data store reads/writes, transformation logic, and LLM integration.
• Integrate LLMs into production workflows with prompt engineering and output validation.
• Write tests covering core logic, external dependencies, and LLM components.
• Deploy solutions to production, monitor runs, and manage hypercare to stable operation.
• Contribute to reusable patterns in the program's libraries.
• Maintain code in a shared repository with PR reviews and documentation standards.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and surface blockers early.
• Develop lightweight full-stack tooling (React frontends, FastAPI backends) when needed.
• Design multi-step agentic workflows and hand off to operations with user-friendly docs.
