Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks an AI Architect to design AI-native architectures for enterprise-scale AI applications across industries.

You will shape target architectures, frame problems, and determine what should be built and what should not, aligning with business goals and governance. You will define evaluation strategies, guardrails, and constraints, mentor colleagues, and contribute to EPAM's AI architecture practice while collaborating with delivery teams and presales.

Qualifications

• Architected AI-native systems in production (RAG, assistants, agents) with architect-level responsibility.
• Started building with AI on your own initiative in the last year or so (side project, PoC, internal tool, writings).
• Solid experience as a solution/software/enterprise architect with delivery accountability.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures for AI-native solutions (orchestration, retrieval, tool and system integration, agent autonomy and guardrails).
• Explain trade-offs, define boundaries, and price options for stakeholders.
• Define evaluation strategy for systems to ensure business fit, not just fluent output.
• Document constraints and governance for engineering teams and agents.
• Decide where humans stay in the loop for regulated decisions and data of record.
• Collaborate with EPAM delivery teams and presales to shape proposals and present options.
• Build PoCs or reference implementations when evidence is needed.
• Contribute to EPAM's AI architecture practice with reference architectures and mentoring.
