Job summary

Ecolab's Digital division seeks a Principal AI Architect to scale AI/DS intelligence through embedded AI within digital software solutions. You will design AI architectures, lead tech strategy, and collaborate with AI teams and solution owners to deliver scalable AI across enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of architecture/AI design experience.
• Enterprise AI & data ecosystem design including multi-agent orchestration (LangChain, LangGraph, Haystack).
• AI/ML platforms: LLM APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Anthropic, MosaicML); transformers; RAG workflows; LLMOps.
• LLMOps: prompt lifecycle, monitoring, context engineering, harness engineering.
• Data & Cloud: Databricks, Snowflake, Azure (AKS, Synapse, EventHub).
• Programming & Integration: Python (Transformers, LangChain, PyTorch); REST/GraphQL/gRPC; microservices.
• Governance & Security: Responsible AI, privacy/compliance, OAuth2/JWT/TLS/RBAC.
• DevOps & Delivery: CI/CD; Docker, Kubernetes; observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Leadership & Strategy: influence tech strategy; mentor engineers; simplify complex concepts.
• Able to thrive in ambiguous environments and balance business needs with architectural rigor.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise architecture across GenAI, agentic workflows, ML platforms, and data ecosystems.
• Serve as technical voice in leadership discussions; influence strategy and navigate challenges.
• Architect and implement scalable AI solutions within end-to-end SAAS platforms.
• Evaluate technologies for cost-optimized, multi-cloud solutions (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure).
• Elevate governance standards for security, compliance, and responsible AI/data use.
• Mentor engineering teams and foster autonomy and architectural discipline.
• Evaluate emerging AI/data tooling and reuse architectural patterns to accelerate delivery.
• Ensure architecture aligns with business goals, scalability, and innovation roadmaps.
• Communicate strategy and implementation to stakeholders to drive alignment.
