Job summary

CAI is hiring a Sr. Applied AI Architect to lead the technical engine behind applied AI delivery. This full-time role is remote and salaried, joining CAI’s IT team to shape architecturally-significant AI solutions and client-ready case studies.

You’ll own end-to-end AI design, drive POC execution, and mentor staff while aligning with governance standards like NIST and GovRAMP. Strong experience with LLMs, MCP, and cloud platforms is essential.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of experience in applied AI or AI/ML engineering with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven track record delivering production-grade AI solutions end-to-end.
• Deep fluency with large language models and agentic AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise AI platforms (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Databricks, Azure AI / OpenAI Service, AWS Bedrock).
• Strong system design, APIs, data pipelines, event-driven systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to operate across technical depth and executive conversations.
• Experience working in regulated environments with FedRAMP, GovRAMP, NIST, or SOC 2.
• Strong communication, translating architecture to exec narratives.
• Bachelor's in CS/Engineering; Master’s preferred; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design for agentic AI systems, LLM integrations, and multi-model workflows.
• Own build-vs-buy decisions for AI tooling with CTO and partners.
• Develop reusable architectural patterns, integration blueprints, and technical playbooks.
• Drive POC development from internal initiatives to client-ready case studies and deployment guides.
• Serve as the technical lead for AI solution conversations with executives and procurement stakeholders.
• Mentor junior AI staff and contribute to the Applied AI Delivery Team model.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the enterprise AI landscape (LLMs, MCP, Databricks, vector databases).
• Apply hands-on fluency across the full CAI stack including security controls and cloud platforms.
