Job summary

TensorOps is an applied-machine-learning studio delivering GenAI systems for clients across Europe and North America. We seek a Principal ML Architect in Portugal to lead client engagements and technical teams from a remote setup.

You will shape technical strategy, drive innovative agentic AI, and oversee end-to-end delivery. You should have 8+ years in ML and software engineering, strong Python and cloud experience, and proven client-facing leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in machine learning and software engineering, delivering production-grade AI/ML systems.
• Significant client-facing experience, capable of engaging with C-level executives and engineering teams.
• Proven leadership and project management experience leading engineering teams and technical delivery.
• Deep expertise in Python and its data science ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Expert understanding of modern AI systems including LLMs, LangChain/LangGraph, and agentic design patterns.
• Strong architectural foundation in software engineering, MLOps, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
• A degree (BSc/MS/PhD) in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Strategy & Architecture with clients to design scalable ML and agentic AI solutions.
• Manage Client Engagements as the primary technical contact ensuring project success.
• Lead & Mentor Engineering Teams, providing direction and ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Drive Innovation with agentic workflows, multi-agent systems, and RAG pipelines.
• Oversee the Full Project Lifecycle from discovery to deployment and monitoring.
