Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks an Applied AI Machine Learning Director within the Applied AI Research team to lead end-to-end agent-based and generative AI solutions for enterprise-scale banking operations.

You will bridge state-of-the-art research and production-grade engineering to build reliable, scalable systems, mentoring engineers and partnering with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• Formal AI/ML training with 10+ years applied experience.
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in CS/Engineering/Statistics or equivalent.
• Experience deploying ML/AI systems in production at scale.
• Strong ML fundamentals, experimental design, data-driven decisions.
• Designing distributed systems for training, inference, and stateful services.
• Lead through influence in cross-functional environments.
• Strong programming and engineering with reusable components.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end agent-based and generative AI solutions.
• Translate business problems into research hypotheses and metrics.
• Build and ship collaborating agents coordinating multi-step processes.
• Design reusable services and evaluation frameworks.
• Establish robust experimentation, monitoring, and iteration.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify use cases and roadmaps.
• Ensure reliability, security, and maintainability in production.
• Mentor engineers and researchers through reviews and guidance.
