JOB MISSION:

With an eye toward the future, New Balance is highly invested in ensuring we continually operate on the cutting edge of the industry. The role of Agile Project Manager (Scrum) will be vital to this objective and, thereby, the overall growth of our business. Your role will serve one to three scrum teams of 5-8 resources each, all working with an Agile approach to deliver value across internal IT platforms to internal business customers. You will foster an environment of teamwork and empowerment, utilizing your technical understanding and interpersonal skills to unleash the full potential of your teams.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Business Partners to manage all aspects from requirements definition to post-implementation support, using industry standards and best practices
  • Oversee existing Agile processes and coaches the team to mature their delivery
  • Lead daily scrum ceremonies among teams
  • Govern 2-week sprint schedule, planning, and commitment processes
  • Coordinate internal resources and work with third party vendors
  • Monitor and report progress of the project to IT management, proactively identifying any project risks or issues and escalating them when appropriate
  • Prepare and publish a status report in intervals throughout the lifecycle of a project
  • Resolve implementation issues to achieve a successful go-live, and resolve post go-live issues to ensure a successful stabilization phase
  • Guide project teams to find solutions that are effective and meet business needs
  • Develop expertise on industry trends and the IT ecosystem to improve project management policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • B.S. in a relevant technical field
  • 5+ years’ experience, including 3 years’ experience as a scrum master in IT or similar field
  • Understanding of agile principles and scrum methodology
  • Understanding of/hands-on experience with software development life cycle
  • Exposure to one or more relevant domain areas such as product, merchandising, retail, marketing, or supply chain preferred
  • Demonstrated influence without authority
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects with various moving parts

Flexible Work Schedule

Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced “Work from Anywhere” (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
