Job summary

Freddie Mac in McLean, VA seeks software engineers to design, code and test the overall product architecture within an Agile team. You will work to meet sprint commitments, apply modern design patterns, and develop unit and integration tests with automation tools for reliable, well-documented code.

Position requires a CS/CE degree with 5 years (or a MS with 3 years) of software development experience. The role is full-time with a traditional 40-hour work week at 8200 Jones Branch Drive in McLean.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field and five years of progressively responsible experience in a software development occupation.
Or: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field and three years of experience in a software development occupation.
40 hours per week, 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM.

Responsibilities

Design, code and test the overall technological architecture of the product on an Agile product team.
Ensure sprint commitments are delivered with expected time and quality.
Build using modern design patterns and architectural principles.
Develop unit and integration tests and automation tools for daily tasks and high quality code.
Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions; act as principal customer contact on contracts.
Coordinate with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters.
