SMX is seeking an Agile Delivery Analyst to serve as the embedded delivery-management and workflow coordination lead for an assigned ARES value stream or delivery area. The role works closely with Government Product Managers, the ARES PMO Lead, technical leads, developers, data engineers, functional experts, and stakeholders to ensure that priorities are translated into clear, actionable work and that workload, delivery flow, risks, dependencies, and commitments are visible and manageable.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the delivery-management and workflow coordination lead for an assigned ARES value stream, product area, platform function, or delivery team.
- Work with Government Product Managers, PMO personnel, technical leads, functional experts, and stakeholders to translate priorities and mission needs into structured, actionable work
- Support the full work lifecycle from intake through analysis, triage, backlog refinement, prioritization support, development, delivery, release, and follow-on sustainment
- Maintain a clear, current, and appropriately structured team backlog in Jira under the direction of the Government Product Manager and in coordination with the ARES PMO Lead.
- Ensure work items include sufficient context for the delivery team, including the requested outcome, scope, priority, users or stakeholders affected, acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions, and relevant operational or service impacts.
- Facilitate practical team routines, including backlog refinement, Kanban or flow reviews, delivery coordination sessions, risk and dependency discussions, and action follow‑up.
- Use Agile and Kanban practices pragmatically to improve visibility, predictability, and team coordination; avoid imposing ceremonies or processes that do not improve delivery or decision quality.
- Track and communicate work in progress, blocked work, backlog readiness, work‑item aging, delivery forecasts, capacity constraints, operational workload, risks, and dependencies.
- Help distinguish and track new capability work, enhancements, defects, incidents, data‑quality issues, access requests, routine support, and other operational work so that the program can understand how capacity is being used.
- Coordinate with technical leads and delivery personnel to capture estimates, sequencing needs, technical dependencies, release considerations, and external coordination requirements.
- Escalate material risks, blockers, cross‑team dependencies, and capacity conflicts to the PMO Lead and appropriate Government or contractor leads.
- Support release readiness by coordinating work‑item completion, validation needs, stakeholder awareness, release documentation, known limitations, and follow‑on work.
- Maintain clear and useful Confluence documentation, including team working agreements, requirements artifacts, decision and action records, release information, and knowledge‑transfer material.
- Develop concise status updates, management summaries, briefings, and Jira‑based reports that accurately reflect team conditions and support leadership decision‑making.
- Capture stakeholder feedback, customer‑support themes, recurring issues, and lessons learned; ensure relevant information informs backlog refinement and continuous improvement.
- Participate in the VSA community of practice led by the PMO Lead to implement common ARES standards for work visibility, reporting, documentation, risk escalation, and delivery coordination.
