Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Agile Coach to support a VA engagement, improving Agile delivery practices, Jira usage, and performance measurement through a Program Value Office. The role combines hands-on Jira configuration, coaching, and training to drive measurable delivery improvements.

You will work with VA stakeholders, Jira specialists, and TPMs to tailor practices to mission needs, mentor peers, and deliver practical improvement plans within a Tysons, VA context.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Agile coaching or adoption experience in large organizations.
• Experience applying Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, or similar frameworks with a principles-first approach.
• Hands-on Jira experience with team-level setup, workflows, boards, and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Assess current-state Agile maturity and Jira usage through interviews, observations, artifacts, and metrics.
• Develop sequenced improvement recommendations reflecting Agile principles and VA priorities.
• Coach delivery teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, managers, and stakeholders on tailored practices.
• Facilitate retrospectives, planning, refinement sessions, and cross-team workshops.
• Design and deliver role-based Agile and Jira training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
• Provide hands-on Jira setup and support for boards, workflows, and dashboards.
• Partner with Atlassian admins for platform-wide changes when needed.
• Help teams connect Jira practices to backlog structure, visualization, priority management, and reporting.
• Define useful metrics with the Program Value Office and communicate findings clearly.
• Guide leaders in using insights to remove impediments and test improvements.
• Mentor junior coaches and produce reusable playbooks and training assets.
• Collaborate with TPM, VA stakeholders, PVO, and technical leads; raise risks and dependencies.
