Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking to hire a Senior Agile Coach to drive adoption and adherence to SAFe Agile best practices in our newly embarked SAFe Agile transformation. The ideal candidate has experience implementing and maturing SAFe Agile to the Portfolio SAFe level and is comfortable communicating with all levels of staff from senior clients to junior contributors.

Location: On-site at our Rosslyn, VA and Beltsville, MD locations.

Role:

  • As a strategic leader in a maturing SAFe Agile organization, you will guide staff across all Product Teams to implement, follow, and mature SAFe Agile best practices, including SAFe Agile ceremonies and PI Planning events.
  • You will lead by example to foster a culture of continuous improvement and help teach and reinforce best practices across all staff, from senior leadership to individual contributors.
  • You will assist Portfolio Leadership and Release Train Engineer to consistently and sustainably implement SAFe Agile processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support SAFe Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Reviews, Retrospectives, Demos) for multiple Product teams, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
  • Coach teams in breaking down requirements into user stories/tasks, resolving impediments, and fostering collaboration between Product Owners, Engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Promote transparency, trust, and continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics analysis, and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, Solution Architects, Scrum Masters, and RTE to define roadmaps, scope, and objectives.
  • Negotiate and resolve conflicts between teams, stakeholders, and external partners using advanced conflict management skills.
  • Partner with Scrum Masters and Portfolio Leadership to plan capacity, allocate resources, and shield teams from external disruptions.
  • Use JIRA, Confluence, and SAFe frameworks to track progress, release budgets, and deliverables.
  • Advocate for Agile adoption across the organization, bridging gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ideally, You Will Need To Have:

  • Proven experience leading complex product development projects involving multiple modules.
  • Ability to influence and mentor teams in Agile practices and SAFe adoption.
  • Strong track record in conflict resolution and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9+ years as an Agile Coach or Release Train Engineer with experience in SAFe, Scrum, and/or Kanban. 7+ years with Masters; or 4+ years with a PhD.
  • Certifications: SAFe SPC 6.0 certification and ONE of the following certifications: CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP.
  • Fluency in JIRA and Confluence.
  • Advanced project management and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Possess a current, active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience as an Agile Coach or Release Train Engineer with experience in SAFe, Scrum, and/or Kanban.
  • PMP certification.
  • PMI-ACP (or equivalent Agile certifications), ICP-ACC, or CSP-SM certification.
  • Experience with cybersecurity programs.

Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
