ETAS is seeking a Senior Agentic Software Engineer in Plymouth, MI to lead the development and deployment of production-grade AI systems. You will orchestrate Python-based back-end architecture, integrate LLMs, optimize vector databases, and deploy secure APIs on Microsoft Azure, collaborating with OEM customers to refine requirements and deliver solutions via Agile processes.

Qualifications

Thorough understanding of software engineering fundamentals: architecture, system design, testing strategy, debugging.
Hands-on production experience with agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot agents).
Strong communication skills to articulate intent, requirements, and constraints clearly.
Product thinking: translate user/business intent into precise specs for autonomous execution.
Prompt and context engineering: write instructions and conventions for agents.

Responsibilities

Own problems end-to-end from user need to architecture, implementation, verification, and operation.
Deliver AI-driven implementations via coding agents and manage multiple agent work streams.
Ensure correctness, security, and maintainability of agent-produced code.
Design tests, typed interfaces, CI gates, and evals for verifiable code.
Collaborate across frontend, backend, infrastructure, DevOps, and data topics.
Evolve development workflows as models and agents advance.
