Job summary

Layla AI, part of Expedia Group, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Agentic AI Engineer to help create proactive travel planning experiences at scale. You will work across agent orchestration, backend services, data and retrieval systems, and user-facing products, turning emerging capabilities into reliable traveler workflows.

The role is high-autonomy, with shared ownership of meaningful features, and requires collaboration with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering to shape direction and measure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience including end-to-end production systems.
• Experience delivering production-grade backend and frontend applications with modern web tech.
• Professional experience integrating LLMs or AI/ML capabilities into production products.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate agentic AI experiences for travel discovery and itinerary planning.
• Develop reliable agent orchestration patterns including tool use, routing, memory, and guardrails.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, integrations, and event-driven workflows.
• Create user-facing experiences that make AI behavior clear and useful across web or product surfaces.
• Establish evaluation, observability, and safety practices for agentic systems.
