Job description

About the Company

Valerie Health is the AI front office for independent provider groups. We are reimagining how independent practices operate by using AI to modernize patient/provider communication, enhance care, and drive industry-changing operational efficiencies.

Why join us now?

  • Team: We are led by Pete Shalek (2x health tech exits, including a $600M acquisition by Optum) and Nitin Joshi (scaled Uber Eats + Health, Stripe Connect, and Bridge–acquired by Stripe for $1.1B). Beyond our founders, our team brings DNA from category leaders (Uber, Stripe, Meta), high-growth unicorns, and top consulting firms.

  • Trajectory: We partner with leading independent provider groups across the U.S., automating hundreds of thousands of tasks each month. Scaling at 7x year-over-year with 300% NRR as customers consistently expand usage.

  • Funding: We have raised $39m from world-class investors including Redpoint Ventures, General Catalyst, Primary Ventures, and BoxGroup.

About the role

As a Senior Agent Operations Associate, you will work at the forefront of applied AI, turning rapidly evolving models into reliable systems that handle real healthcare workflows at scale.

You will own problems end to end: understand how customer workflows operate, translate requirements into agent behavior, investigate performance in data, diagnose production issues, and decide where automation can safely replace manual work. You will partner closely with Customer Strategy, Operations, and Engineering to build, launch, and improve agent workflows. You will also work directly with customers during workflow discovery, triage, launches, and production troubleshooting.

This is a high-learning, high-ownership role. You will build deep intuition across AI systems, healthcare operations, and production workflows while helping define how Agent Operations should work as Valerie scales.

What you’ll do
  • Lead implementations: Lead agent implementations from workflow discovery and design through configuration, testing, launch readiness, and post-launch performance. Partner with Customer Strategy, which owns the overall customer relationship.

  • Design and improve workflows: Translate complex customer processes into reliable automated workflows, including routing, downstream actions, integrations, and human-in-the-loop paths.

  • Own production performance: Build reporting, diagnose workflow performance, and prioritize improvements across automation efficiency, quality, SLA performance, and customer impact.

  • Increase automation: Identify why tasks require human review or manual fallback and develop, test, and monitor improvements that safely move work toward automated completion.

  • Build the playbook: Turn successful implementation and optimization approaches into repeatable processes, configurations, and testing methods that help the team scale.

About you

We expect candidates with 2-4 years of experience from backgrounds such as consulting, finance, analytics, operations, technical implementation, product, or related roles. We care more about learning velocity, evidence of achievement, and ownership than a specific tenure range.

You may be a strong fit if:

  • Have owned complex operational, implementation, or technical projects end to end

  • Think in systems and identify the highest-leverage problems to solve

  • Combine analytical rigor with practical execution

  • Have strong technical instincts and either experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, tools such as SQL, logs, APIs, integrations, and agent configuration

  • Communicate clearly across customers, operators, and engineers, and bring structure to ambiguous work

What We Offer
  • Build at the forefront of applied AI, with meaningful ownership and rapid learning in an AI-native, high-growth startup

  • Competitive salary, equity and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and flexible PTO

  • SF Office: Daily catered lunch and dinner reimbursement
