Job summary

JANUS Research Group seeks a Senior AFSIM Modeler to support U.S. Army Aviation Future Capability Directorate at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

You will develop, configure, execute, and analyze mission-level simulations to support capability development and requirements analysis. The role requires deep AFSIM experience, strong C++ and Python skills, and the ability to translate operational questions into quantitative analyses while collaborating with Army SMEs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (CS, Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related).
• Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience (Force Design Analyst II LCAT).
• Significant hands-on experience developing and executing models using AFSIM.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Proficiency in Python or scripting languages.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AFSIM models for Army Aviation systems.
• Configure AFSIM run sets and mission-level scenarios for analysis.
• Model weapons systems, sensors, radar and EW systems, aircraft dynamics, missiles, space architectures, and C2 networks.
• Develop and modify custom AFSIM plug-ins and supporting utilities.
• Use C++, Python and other scripting tools to support modeling, data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Conduct quantitative and systems analyses evaluating capabilities, configurations, and force structures.
• Collaborate with Aviation SMEs to translate concepts into executable simulations.
• Support verification and validation of models, inputs, and outputs.
• Document models, assumptions, data, configuration, and data lineage.
• Develop technical modeling documentation and reports for Government stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other modeling personnel.
• Present analytical results to Government technical audiences.
