Job summary

JANUS Research Group seeks an AFSIM Modeler to support Army Aviation simulations at Fort Rucker. You will develop mission scenarios and run analyses to evaluate capabilities, sensors, weapons, and C2 networks.

Required: Active Secret clearance, C++ and Python, and hands-on AFSIM experience. Collaboration with SMEs and rigorous documentation are essential components of the role.

This is a technically demanding role with opportunities to influence capability development and system-level simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline including CS/IE/Math/OR.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on AFSIM experience.
• Experience configuring AFSIM run sets and mission scenarios.
• Working proficiency with C++ and Python for data tasks.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AFSIM models and mission scenarios.
• Configure and execute AFSIM run sets.
• Model aircraft, sensors, weapons, and C2 networks.
• Develop scripts and tools for simulation execution and post-processing.
• Support AFSIM plug‑ins and extensions development.
• Collect, process, and visualize simulation results.
• Support sensitivity analyses and configuration comparisons.
• Coordinate with Army SMEs to translate problems into analysis.
• Support model verification, validation, and quality control.
• Document model inputs, assumptions, data lineage, and configs.
• Prepare technical docs and briefing materials.
