Job summary

Outpost is seeking a Senior Aerothermal Analysis Engineer to own aerothermal environments for CarryAll, guiding high‑fidelity CFD, engineering methods, and test data to TPS sizing and trajectory decisions.

You'll collaborate with GNC, TPS, and structures teams, push for rapid iteration, automate environment generation, and help define margins and uncertainties across flight regimes from Mach 25 to subsonic descent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in hypersonic, supersonic, reentry, or rocketry aerothermodynamic analysis.
• Experience with high-enthalpy flow solvers and large-scale CFD automation.

Responsibilities

• Own aerothermal environment definition across full flight envelope.
• Set up high-enthalpy CFD at key trajectory points with non-equilibrium effects.
• Bridge CFD points with fast engineering heating methods and uncertainty margins.
• Automate environment generation and maintain compute resources.
