Job summary

Karman Space & Defense seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of aerospace structures, mechanisms, and systems from concept to qualification. You will guide engineering activities, mentor juniors, and support multiple design efforts with hands-on involvement.

Candidates should have a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 6+ years in aerospace/defense design, and proficiency in SolidWorks and GD&T.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 6+ years designing aerospace/defense systems.
• Proven experience passing qualification tests.
• Proficient in mechanical design, drawings, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Leads mechanical design across concept through delivery.
• Develops structures, mechanisms, and systems per requirements.
• Performs calculations and tolerance stack-ups to validate design.
• Mentors junior engineers and supports multiple programs.
